Created a day-long series of global conversations through Portals meeting people working in the beauty industry in Rwanda, Mexico, Palestine, and the San Joaquin Valley.
L’Oreal used these insights to create more environmentally friendly products that are helpful in places with water shortage.
Members of their innovation team wanted to learn how people keep up their beauty and hygiene routine in the face of water shortages. From young adults in Rwanda to grandmothers in Mexico and teachers in California, people across our network shared their hacked together hygienic solutions in the face of severe environmental challenges. The innovation team learned about how far water can go when needed and saw the value of traditional oils and homemade concoctions when mass market products were out of reach.
