Mc Anhar is a rapper, originally from Iraq, but now in Sweden. He started singing and rapping at the age of 13. Rap is a relatively new genre in Iraq, and using music as a tool for social change presents unique challenges and dangers in the Iraqi context. Anhar uses his Mc Anhar platform on Youtube, a channel with over 275k subscribers, as a space to give voice to the Iraqis experiencing the effects of over a decade of political and social unrest. He is a dedicated rapper using his music as ‘a weapon’ to fight for change and support the voice of Iraqi protest movements. Michael is an Assistant Professor of Communication Studies at Towson University outside of Baltimore, Maryland, USA. Michael earned his Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Communication Studies from the Hugh Downs School of Human Communication at Arizona State University, along with a graduate certificate in Gender Studies from the School of Social Transformation. His work is found at the intersection of intercultural communication, critical/cultural communication, and performance studies. Cyrus Kawalya is a renowned visual development artist/strategist with a deep passion for the use of film and photography as tools for social change. He is also the co-founder of Film 256, a social advocacy creative platform bringing together Ugandan film professionals to commit to the development of the Ugandan film industry through imparting film skills in under-privileged communities. Film 256 creates transformation through by creating job opportunities and empowering community members to tell their stories through visual storytelling. He is a (YALI) Mandela Washington Fellow and the founder/former President of the YALI Uganda Chapter. He has successfully designed and led a number of youth development programs. One of his signature programs was a country wide campaign for peace during Uganda’s election named “I Pledge Peace Campaign 2016”, which used creative arts as tools to deliver a message of peaceful electoral participation to Ugandans. Cyrus continues to advocate for peace as the key foundation for a stable global community.

She's now finishing a Master's degree in Contemporary Hispanic Literature (from Spain and Latin America) and is conducting research on the influence of confessional poets (Anne Sexton and Sylvia Plath) in the United States on contemporary Spanish female poets. Rashida is an actress, director and award winning poet from Uganda. She is the founder of the Sophie Muwanika Institute of Art for change, a nonprofit organization that uses theatre for peace. Her works seek to use narratives for healing and reconciliation in post conflict areas or areas vulnerable to conflict. Rashida also advocates for the inclusion of artists in peace building process and for the use of performance arts in conflict transformation. She is the 2013 Babishai Niwe Poetry award winner, a 2016 Laureate global fellow, 2017 One Young World Peace Ambassador and a 2019 Community Solutions fellow.
