Heela Yoon is the Founder and CEO of Afghan Women Welfare and Development Association (AWWDA) which is a grassroot level civil society organization based in Afghanistan working towards women and young women empowerment and capacity building. She is currently working at the Global Network of Women Peacebuilders (GNWP) as the Fourth Cora Weiss Peacebuilding Fellow, a one-year fellowship program for young women peacebuilders from conflict affected countries to support global advocacy at the United Nations Headquarters in NY for the implementation of the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) and Youth, Peace, and Security (YPS) Agendas. Prior to joining GNWP, Heela worked as a Desk officer and Coordinator for the United Nations Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Afghanistan (MoFA). She has also assisted the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) and the Security Council Desks.

Patrick studied mechanical engineering in Goma at ITIG, which is where his love for architectural design comes from. And the Nakivale Refugee Settlement has been a unique canvas for him — a place to express his passion for designing unique constructions such as bottles houses, geodesic domes and even an amphitheater. In 2014, Patrick also co-founded NakivART, a project that showcases and supports artwork in Nakivale. His artworks include paintings, sculptures and comic books illustrating various topics refugees can relate to – such as his 2014 book Stella, which discusses how to deal with trauma. Patrick joined SINA Uganda in 2015 to learn more about entrepreneurship, mentoring and coaching. The following year he co-founded Opportunigee to help young refugees in Nakivale become entrepreneurs and job creators. He has a certificate in Peace building and Trauma healing from Pax Cultura. Patrick has been the CEO of Promise Hub Nakivale since 2018.

Gabriela Strauss is the founder of Mujeres al Volante (Women on Steering Wheels), an organization that helps women, children, elderly people and other vulnerable populations safely travel around their cities. Mujeres al Volante emerged from a group of mothers who wanted to use their private cars to transport women and children to keep them safe. The project is a continued success and is a continued effort to fight gender-based violence and democratize urban transportation.

Daniela is a lawyer and environmental engineer from Bogotá, Colombia who leads the clean air initiative for the local chapter of AIDA (Interamerican Association for Environmental Defense). Daniela has completed a research internship at Cornell University, Ithaca, and graduated from her LL.M. (Master of Laws) in Environmental Law and Environmental Public Policy from Stanford University, California. She has experience as a researcher in air quality measurement and monitoring, and in the development of environmental public policies from an environmental justice perspective. Daniela's work is centered around advising and supporting communities in the design of strategic legislation and in the proposal of judicial or political solutions for the prevention of socio-environmental conflicts.

Alejandro Daly is the Director of El Derecho a No Obedecer (The Right Not to Obey), a platform of the Otraparte Corporation that proposes, develops and accompanies citizen advocacy processes to achieve greater and better impacts on four main issues: peaceful protest and mobilization, climate justice, coexistence and security and migration. It takes place mainly in Bogotá, Cali, Cúcuta and Medellín. In addition, he is Co-Director of the Xenophobia Barometer, a platform that systematizes and analyzes the conversation about migration in social networks, web pages and the media in Colombia. Alejandro is a member of Global Shapers Bogotá, an initiative of the World Economic Forum, an ambassador for One Young World, a climate leader for The Climate Reality Project, and a UNICEF consultant for Latin America and the Caribbean.
